DAV Mukhyamantri Public School, Javanga, Dantewada, is a state government project aimed to cater the educational need of remote tribal area of south Bastar, the most backward area of Chhattisgarh. The school is situated in the Education city of Geedam, Dantewada district of Chhattisgarh. It has been previously known as Govt. Model School run by the State Govt. affiliated to CBSE, New Delhi vide. In 2016 under PPP (Public Private Partnership) model State government handed over this school (among 13 special schools out of 72 schools) to DAV group of Institutions. As per the agreement the academic and management shall be undertaken solely by DAV management and Infrastructure and Finance part shall be the liability of State under O & M scheme.
Dantewada is the most affected Naxal hit area where Maoist violence is a great threat. While economic backwardness and conflicts have drawn a great deal of attention here, educational deprivations have been also getting its share of attention in the development strategy adopted for the LWE Districts. In recent years local administration took initiative to gather the naxal violence affected children and refuge them in State administered Hostels (both for boys & girls).
